RSS Home Page

Lately, I’ve been unhappy with my start page. I use(d) ProtoPage which is a website that aggregates RSS feeds. Why go to a single page of news when you can get 15 news papers/webpages into one page? A few weeks ago, they changed the way it worked. No Beta phase, nada!
So last night, I played with 4 others: netvibes, Google/ig, Pageflakes and my.Yahoo!. I used each of them for 15 minutes and netvibes came out as the clear winner. The only issue with netvibes is that its a little slow as it opens the feeds after the page loads. The others appeared to have cached them.

I am able to put all of my buddies blogfeeds on all of them. Google/ig and Netvibes appears to have the most gadgets and tools. Netvibe also has the most elegant design. my.Yahoo!’s was so old style, albeit AJAXed to the hilt. Google/ig’s was rubbish, they really need to hire a really good webdesign firm to refresh their look.

Pageloads wise Google/ig was fastest, then Pageflakes then my.Yahoo! with about the same amount of content. myYahoo! was the most difficult to configure as it tries to “force” you to use its pre-selected feeds.

In Summary, if you’re tired of spending 30 minutes a day, surfing the site you love, just get an RSS reader homesite and put them all in one (or two or three) tabs. netvibes is real good at counting the new feeds items and puts them in little parenthesis in the tab bars.

I’ve been trolling the local stores for a Wii console this past few days. I’m not upset that I can’t find one.

Watching this now makes me want a 1080p projector too! Yes, I know the Wii only does 480i/p.

Argh! I recently bought a very nice Panasonic Cordless multi phone. It had Voicemail, caller-id, 3 sets, 5ghz. It looks great and feels nice. I started using it and the max volume is too low. Now do I return this and hope that the next unit will be louder? Its the Panasonic kx-tg5633bp.

I only have 1 jack in the house and this would really suit my case. So my old Panasonic is now plugged in. Its very nice, loud and clear… [grumble grumble whine whine]

Pot Luck

Pot Lucks are a mystery to me…

How much food should I buy/make. Will it be too weird if I made it? Tom will eat what ever I make but will the other picky eaters do so too?

This time, I’m going to have to throw caution to the wind and make Nasi Lemak rice and some REAL Chicken Curry. None of the piddly tasteless milk yogurty tasting shenanigans. This ones gonna be sear the mouth, burn the throat good…. ok not that hot but I will definately have a zing…

Damn, I hope some one brings lots of ice.

eBay

This is probably Pierre’s train of thought

Lets create a website
A site that sells stuff
A site that helps people sell stuff

A site that sells people stuff to other people

An auction site that we only take a small percentage as a fee
A global auction site that charges a small fee. Yeah… I could make a few HUNDRED dollars a year…
