Cranberry and Gravy

goes well with Turkey. A little sweet and salty.

Note to self: That Reynolds bag thing doesn’t work. All it did was cook the turkey faster and didn’t brown the skin like the way I did it. Damn…

Who shops the night before Thanksgiving?

I do! I do!

We went to Meijer just now and spent about $70 for some groceries. I was actually quite impressed that they manned about 90% of the checkout aisle.

Small Note: French’s Fried Onions are in Aisle 14. Why I dunno… It’s no where near anything that is related to it…

My Short short “The Lake House” movie review

Posted on November 21st, 2006 in by ChrisLim

I liked it. It was entertaining.

I see a lot of reviewer out there slamming the artistic license the movie took. They are the same people that liked the droll movies that drag a simple scene to over 15 minutes. C’mon people, movies are supposed to be entertaining, why the hell do you think people are shunning the theatres? Because many of the new movies are unadulterated, serious, complicated, enigma of human experiences that defy actual normal people’s lives.

You see, if I need to buy a Pizza, I go buy a Pizza. I don’t sit and sulk that the Carbs and Calories will fill my fat pockets and Cholesterol will choke my arteries.

SPOILER: It was cool that the movie quotes a freak storm in the spring of 2004. I was wondering how accurate that was. Well check this out http://www.chrislim.com/?p=51.

Is that cool or what?

A fancy little doo-hickey called ClustrMaps showing your visitors on a world map.

I actually use sitemeter, but this is cool too.

The future of TV?

Posted on November 19th, 2006 in by ChrisLim

So as I was feeling a little under the weather this weekend, I was sucked into watching Live TV. Fall lacks the number of good shows to fill up the Tivos. I see this video-on-demand service called Vongo. It snags me and reels me in with its 14 day trial.

Vongo is an online service from the Starz channel. Its $9.99 a month after the 14 day trial. There are also PPV movies that are $2-$4 a movie download. Unlimited downloads, live Starz channel and an iTunes like front end are prety enticing. You can download the movies to a handheld too but I don’t have one. I think you’re allowed to add a couple other computers to your account too.
After a 2 minute or less download and install. I start looking at the thousands of movies and it wasn’t really that impressive.

Firstly, why do I have to pay for older movies? Groundhog Day, Finding Forrester, Desperado, and Awakenings are all $2.99 each.

The front end can’t be resized. If you have a 17″ monitor, the screen is pretty puny.

I did find a bunch of older movies that I loved. You are able to stream a movie live but its probably better to download the movie first.

..more later..
