Today is Tuesday 24 hours after the 24th hour of the upgrade. Everything was going pretty acceptable on Monday. ALmost everything was ok except label printing. That we can “cheat” on. Not a big deal, HQ said they could fix it.
However today was the mother of all pains in the asses day. First a bunch of things broke in SAP, not to mention that the label printing has to be really Jerry-Rigged. Then, I go the call…. “Hey, that EDI document I just send isn’t going through…” After 2 hours of dinking around, we find out that the Firewall is TOAST. Its an old Nokia IP120. It has had a lot of problems but usually solved in an hour or two.
I made a few calls, set up some PO’s and our Support Services company, Incat Systems came up with a very simple solution. Use the CheckPoint CD that boots Linux. Long story short at 5:40pm almost everthing is back up….. What a P.I.T.A day…. Hope your day is going better.
Happy Christmas, Merrie Monarch day.
